When it comes to “alien literacies” I do not have much experience with it. The closest encounters I can compare it to is at my work we have a lot of customers where English is there second language so whether they speak their language or speak English with a thick accent at times it is hard to understand. Ive worked there for a couple months so I’ve have got way better at understanding and even picking up a few words to make the communicating better. So in my opinion I have completely conquered however I am working to improve it.

I do understand the struggle growing up I had two friends and their parents both spoke with heavy accidents. It was hard to understand them in the beginning but as I spoke more with them and the more I was around their accents. I became at understanding their english and there since of humor.
