All Writing Is Autobiography

Throughout reading the Article on Page 223 Murray makes a strong argument on how “All writing is autobiography.” His reason saying this is because all of your writings you make have some opinion of the writer who is writing about their topic. People who heard about Murray’s thought did not agree because they did not understand his meaning of the word autobiography. They were taking the word as stories of someones life. When in reality he’s using the word autobiography to explain the traces of opinions that the creator (writer) adds in their text. After Murray explains his theory about all writing being an autobiography he goes in to talk about the kind of writings he does that includes autobiographies. After going through a few times an re reading his articles I finally understand his theory. Before you start writing papers you think about what you are going to write about, you then write your thoughts and go from their. Meaning in the end of the writing traces of your thoughts are in it making it as Murray says an autobiography (traces of the creators thoughts.) His theory makes you want to write different and go above the limitations of what your writing needs to be and making your writing more of what you think is right. I feel as if Murray chooses to write like this and share his discovery over his hypothesis because he wants other creators of writing to be able to feel like their writing is not just factual but as a part of themselves in the work.
